Edward W. Gillow died December 4, 2004 after a long illness.
He was a beloved husband and loving father. He was born April 14, 1939 in Scranton, PA. In 1958, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Penn State University. Later, he attended the University of Buffalo, where he met his future wife, Dale, and finished his PhD in chemistry. He and Dale married and settled in Buffalo, NY, where he was employed by DuPont. They had a son, Larry, while living in Buffalo. DuPont transferred the family to TX where a daughter, Linda, was born. Later, the family moved to DE, where a son, Drew, was born.
Edward Gillow was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Gillow and Wilma Gillow of Equinunk, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Dale Gillow; and son, Larry Gillow and his wife, Donna Gillow, and their son, Sean Gillow; his daughter, Linda Gillow; and son, Drew Gillow and his wife, Janet Gillow, and their children, Brendan Gillow and Caroline Gillow.
A memorial service will be held at a later time after the holidays by Reverend Bo Matthews at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ALS Center for Hope at Drexel University Hospital, 219 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19107."
