"Nelson Cuddeback, who was born in the town of Niles, March 20, 1849, died at his home, No. 27 Havens ave., in this city at 12:15 to-day, having been ill only since last Friday. He attended the meeting of Seward-Crooker post last week and seemed to be in usual health, although he had not been well for some time. He served in the 24th NY Cavalry, and had been a member of Skaneateles Lodge F&AM for over 40 years.
The two orders of which he was a member will have charge of the funeral services, which will be held at the house Thursday March 2nd at 1:30 o'clock. He is survived by his wife Flora Cuddeback and one son Nelson Charles Cuddeback. Burial will be made in the Owasco Rural Cemetery. Mr. Cuddeback was a farmer, but retired about four years ago and came to Auburn to reside. He was a man who was greatly respected for his character and integrity

About five months ago he underwent an operation for appendicitis, from which he recovered and was able to be around. But 1 week ago he was taken ill with kidney trouble, and was removed to this hospital. From then on his condition grew more serious until his death this morning.
He had been in the employ of the Auburn Automobile Company for the past five years, and was known around the city as a very careful chauffer. Mr. Cuddeback has no immediate relatives. The remains were taken to the undertaking rooms of E.M. Walker. The funeral arrangements are incomplete."
