EDNA VIVIAN CUDDEBACK PATTERSON Otisville, N.Y. Edna C. Patterson of Otisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the home of her daughter, Glenda in Middletown with both of her daughters by her side. She was 91. The daughter of the Warren and Harriet M. Drake Cuddeback, she was a descendent of the original Cuddebacks and grew up on the farm on Galley Hill Road. She was born April 1, 1913 in Cuddebackville. She is believed to have been the first milkmaid delivering in Orange County, serving the Otisville community until her marriage in 1935. In 1999 she unveiled the memorial honoring her ancestor, Jacques Cuddeback (1666-1767) during a weekend long family reunion, which brought Cuddebacks from all over the world. The memorial is located at the corner of Routes 209 and 211 in Cuddebackville. Edna was one of the founders of the Otisville Country Garden Club. She was a deacon of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, was treasurer of the Memorial Committee, was a faithful member of the Wednesday morning prayer meeting and was a member of the Women's Association. Her life centered around her family, church and her garden. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, was interested in the stock market, politics and the news of the day. She was also a "sharpshooter" with her .22 rifle. She was the widow of Glenn R. Patterson, who passed away August 2, 1998. She was also predeceased by her brother, Frank Cuddeback; sister, Helen Cuddeback Barron; granddaughter, Nancy Anne Teabo; and her sons-in-law, William L. Sandoe and Wally Sheil. Survivors include two daughters, Joan P. Sheil of Sarasota, Fla. and Glenda P. Teabo-Sandoe of Middletown; grandchildren, Carl Wilbur and his wife, Laurie, of Illinois, Geoffrey G. Teabo and his wife, Laurence of London, England, Michelle Wilbur of Florida, Laura Anne Bendlin and her husband, David, of Otisville, Eric W. Sandoe of Pennsylvania. She was the loving great-grandmother to Jasmine and Jared Sale, Ryan, Sean and Emma Wilbur, Alisha Sandoe and Tia and Arianna Bendlin. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Ashworth of Little Falls; dear friend, Carol Colavito; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, on Monday, October 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Farley officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville.
